What is the Revit Furniture Detail Item Warehouse?

This MKF Revit warehouse contains 2D detail items of typical furniture for quick planning purposes, or for cleaner documentation drawings. These are detail items are designed to be lightweight and easy to use.

Why did I create this?

I love Revit. The ease of use for creating plan views, sections, and elevations is unmatched., in my opinion. However, by nature of the software, it is not always the quickest when coming up with plan layouts. Relying on native 3D families can bog down the file and adds additional detail that is not always needed, especially at the initial phase. I created this warehouse of all detail item components I use during my initial space planning for a project. They provide a quick an easy way to layout furniture that is not only lightweight, but clean graphically.

How do I use the Revit Furniture Detail Item Warehouse?

The Revit Furniture Detail Item Warehouse is a Revit project file that contains the detail item families for sofas, chairs, stools, tables, and dining room sets. In order to use the detail items in other projects, you can select and of the detail items and hit Edit Family at the top of your Revit window. Once the family editor is open, you can then Save As to a location on your own computer. You can then import them into any Revit project or your Revit template for quick access in the future.

What version of Revit is this for?

This asset was developed in Revit 2024. This asset can be upgraded in later versions of Revit (i.e. Revit 2025), but cannot be downgraded to earlier versions (i.e. Revit 2023).
